Program

Led by the National Symphony Orchestra and Washington National Opera, and Kennedy Center's Social Impact department, The Cartography Project is a multi-year commissioning project engaging artists from around the nation to map Black dignity. The focus of Cartography for the next three seasons will be the future of Black dignity. What do they look like in New Orleans? What do they sound like in Detroit? What are we doing today to shape the Black lives of tomorrow, in Houston and Seattle? Join us to learn more about the project and hear directly from our newly commissioned composers and librettists through conversation and performance.
